20-05-2010 Xact signed new major Cool:Gen conversion contract

Xact signed major contract with international European bank.

Xact must convert the central business system of the international European bank. The system is one of the bank's core systems and is scheduled to be finished converted in 2011.

The conversion is based on using Xact's automated tool portfolio and the use of automated tools and ability to deliver, were crucial to the customer's choice of Xact as supplier.

Customer's existing system has been developed in the case tool Cool:Gen running on a mainframe. Xact converts the system to the Eclipse-based development language RDB-EGL from IBM and the system can then be deployed to the platform that the customer deems most efficient in both performance and price. The system Xact deliver will be able to run both as COBOL code or Java.

Using Xact's solution the Bank achieves the flexibility they have long wished for. Furthermore, the delivered solution from Xact can easily be implemented as a Web 2.0 solution if the customer wishes.
