Background

Lack of support both from the supplier and in-house is an obvious reason why customers wish to convert existing databases. In addition, many older databases have a design and structure which does not fulfill the customer's new requirements for data accessibility and mobility. Customers today need to be able to use data across systems, solutions, organisations and platforms, placing greater demands on the databases themselves, data access and security. Integration with, for example, web solutions, places requirements on customers' databases which they did not have just a few years ago.
