Xact Extends Conversion Tooling to Handle DMS/CICS
Xact is extending its conversion tooling to support DMS/CICS conversion to IBM's strategic Enterprise Generation Language (EGL). The converted applications will be fully integrated with the WebSphere platform and the J2EE environment.
August 3rd 2004 IBM released announcement letter 904-151, announcing withdrawal of support for the DMS/CICS development tool as of September 30th 2005.
DMS (Development Management System) was introduced by IBM in the 1970s as an alternative to COBOL, PL/1, and Assembler.
Xact already offers automated program conversions, replatforming and modernization services for applications developed using COBOL, CA-Ideal, HPS, AppBuilder, Cool:Gen, Cool:Enterprise and Mantis.
